Mark Allen – Founder & CEO of Allen & York 

Mark pioneered Sustainable Recruitment by founding Allen & York in 1993, championing ethical best practice, as well as recruiting into an industry he feels passionately about. Mark has over 20 years of recruitment experience across a range of technical areas, but crucially has never strayed far from his background in Environmental Science, in which he holds a BSc.

Mark communicates this passion for a sustainable business throughout Allen & York, where he is committed to the creation of a challenging, enjoyable and interesting working environment. There is a culture of encouraging talented people to flourish and develop their own careers, whilst helping professionals throughout the sustainability industry to do the same.

Mark has successfully created the leading specialist sustainability recruitment/search and selection business in the world and is committed to ensuring Allen & York remain at the forefront of developments within the industry.

Paul Gosling – Managing Director UK & Europe

Paul joined Allen & York in 1995 after completing his degree in Environmental Science (BSc) and has been instrumental in the company’s growth and development ever since. Having personally recruited into all the areas of Allen & York’s operation during his 16 years with the business Paul now combines his strategic input into managing the business, with continuing to be actively involved in particularly large, sensitive or challenging recruitment projects.   

Paul’s extensive network of contacts and understanding of the sustainability markets are invaluable in providing the highest possible level of service.

Paul is one of the most experienced sustainability search consultants currently operating within the environmental, energy and sustainability fields.

Paul maintains his strategic input into the A&Y Board, with an active involvement in business critical, sensitive or high profile search projects, across the UK & European portfolio.

Paul is particularly driven to ensure that Allen & York continues to the first choice and most recommended recruiter within the sustainability market. As such he is committed to ensure that every recruiter delivers to the highest standards and he is the business champion of customer service excellence.

Jean-Maxime Long – Managing Director UAE

Jean-Maxime is truly multi-lingual being fluent in French, Italian, Spanish and English and holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from Imperial College and a post-graduate certificate in Environmental Management from Harvard.  He has held board level positions within Engineering Consultancy services and the Oil & Gas industry. 

He has many years of experience within recruitment in the Middle East, specialising in environment, water, waste, land development and infrastructure. His extensive experience within global business allows him to precisely understand client requirements and to use his network of senior professionals.

Christopher Ouizeman – Managing Director Australia

Christopher is a multi-facetted executive, he  holds a Master of Commerce, an MBA and is fluent in French.  He has 15 years experience within the mining, engineering, environmental and commercial sectors, and has held board level positions within a number of global recruitment and professional services firms.

Christopher draws upon his extensive management and trouble shooting experience to challenge clients and offer alternatives to conventional wisdom. Having assisted businesses across multiple industries in both a search and management consulting capacity, he is an enthusiastic and well informed strategic search partner.
