ALLEN & YORK were delighted to take part and quite frankly surprised and elated to WIN!!!
The annual Splash in the Park for Julia's House children's hospice, features teams of four to eight people paddling kayaks, racing on stand-up paddle boards and climbing over inflatable obstacles to raise between £10,000 and £12,000 for the cause which helps children with life-limiting conditions.
There are events running all day, culminating in an epic relay race in which the top teams battle it out for the trophy!
Team ALLEN & YORK couldn't have given more to this nail-biting race, in which every discipline is covered and each one triggers the next person to go.
First off was Cate Battson who flew over the inflatable obstacle course, triggering Chris Saunby who dug deep on his paddle board to put Katie and George in 4th place for the kayak.
Unfortunately they were so enthusiastic with their sharp left turn on the start that they capsized and had to bring themselves back into the race from last place, to finish 4th, which luckily was enough to trigger Holly Auger and Miriam Heale into the last pedalo, to peddle for their lives in the most gripping pedalo race Poole has ever seen!
They moved from 4th to an unbelievable 1st place, to launch themselves and the whole team on to a giant paddle board and race the last lap, with the next team hot on their heels, to come in as the triumphant winners of the 2016 watersports extravaganza!!
Maybe you had to be there, but honestly it was genuinely thrilling.
