New Look Group PLC is one of the largest clothing retail groups based in the UK with around 600 stores UK wide and a further 300 based in France and Belgium (trading as MIM). The company has grown considerably since its first store opened in Taunton in 1969, but the company has remained close to its South West heritage by keeping its head office in Weymouth, Dorset.

New Look began to focus on CSR issues in February 2007 to keep the company in-line with government standards. Allen and York, as the market leaders in Environmental Recruitment, were asked by New Look to advise on the most suitable candidate for their needs. At the heart of Allen and York's specilaist and focussed approach, is a requirement to fully understand their client's needs, therefore an experienced Environment Consultant was happy to arrange a meeting with New Look to discuss their current operations and future aspirations.

Allen and York’s proposal was to recruit an experienced Environmental Advisor with a solid general understanding of the environment sector with particular skills in ISO14001 and Waste Management.

The Service

After thorough discussions about the various services Allen and York can offer, including Senior Search, Managed Advertising and Database Search, it was agreed that the best approach, to find the most appropriate candidates for this position, was an in-depth Database Search by our specialist Environment Group.

The Result

Within set deadlines interviews were arranged and an outstanding candidate was offered the job. The successful candidate was living within commutable distance of New Look’s head office and matched their requirements exactly, it was not a difficult decision to accept the chance to join a great company in a relatively new team with extremely good opportunities to develop a long term career.
