Our client is one of the UK's leading planning practices specialising in architecture, planning and design. They currently looking for an Urban Designer to join and manage their team in London and develop business with clients.

Essential Functions of Role:

Able to prepare a competitively tendered briefs for a client and win work. Deliver client presentations. Builds effective and long-term relationships with clients.

Able to delegate and manage workloads. Manage the professional development of team members.

Can deliver projects within agreed budget and able to set appropriate budgets for a client. Knows how to keep team members to a tight schedule.

Able to create opportunities and contribute to marketing the practice effectively. Contribute to the business development of the Planning Practice.

Able to network effectively within and outside the practice with clients, professionals, suppliers, contractors etc. Will participate in conferences and other professional talks etc.

Can produce a quality product and has excellent attention to details. Able to monitor and review the work of others.

Will assist the Practice Director with general resourcing issues and putting together teams for projects.

Will manage project teams,, prepare site analysis and identify key issues for the project to focus on. Able to support the key issues with good written format.

Able to influence and understand the design process and communicate creative ideas. Good hand drawing skills and able to use computer aided images.

The successful candidate will have a Post Graduate Qualification in Urban Design. Previous management responsibility essential. They will be commercially astute and able to generate business with good technical ability as a Senior Urban Designer along with the ability to manage and develop a team. It is essential that you are computer literate with a knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft packages.
