Our client is a leading multidisciplinary consultancy and the are currently seeking a junior transport planner. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone to join our clients fast growing transportation team.
You will be:
capable of providing high quality project support for key private and public sector clients such as The Crown Estate, MOD, English Partnerships, British Waterways, Severn Trent and a wide range of Government Agencies and Local Authorities.
undertake work and gain experience at the national, regional and local level, often as part of large multi disciplinary project teams.
working with and supporting a wide range of project managers across the business and within different technical disciplines to ensure effective project delivery and meet client requirements.
provide support to bid managers in the preparation of proposals and tenders for existing and new clients.
The position offers the opportunity to gain experience on a wide range of projects and build up your expertise in transport and traffic engineering. The workload is extremely varied covering everything from strategic land promotion, regeneration, policy research and development through to preparation of supplementary planning documents, master planning, applications, EIA, transport assessments, travel plans and planning appeals.
Candidate requirements and Experience:
First Degree Geography, Town Planning or related discipline (note consideration will be given to applicants without a first degree but with demonstrable experience in transport planning
Second Degree Experience Typically we would expect candidates to either be a recent graduate or someone with more than 2 years experience in transport planning or a related discipline.
Experience within a consultancy environment or Local Authority is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
You should be able to demonstrate your ability to work to deadlines, undertake effective report writing, data management and research and a flexible attitude to work as part of a team.
