One of the UK's leading environmental and engineering consultancies with a growing Environmental team are looking for an Environmental Engineer for their North West office. The client is looking for someone with a strong technical knowledge of the waste sector, where you will be responsible for managing waste projects, preparing proposals and assisting with the development of the business.

Projects may include feasibility studies and the engineering and design of hazardous and commercial waste treatment processes, such as transfer stations, anaerobic digestion and energy from waste.

You will require:

- a relevant engineering degree, such as civil, chemical or environmental, and Chartered status would be beneficial
- good technical knowledge of the waste sector, including knowledge of the UK waste regulations
- good man management skills, as you will be required to mentor more junior members of staff
- good project management skills
- experience in the design of waste treatment and disposal facilities, together with a sound understanding of permitting and licensing of treatment plants
- experience in preparing proposals and helping to write them, and previous consultancy experience is also essential
