This is an exciting position that requires dedication and dynamism with a view to contributing to the increasing success of a rapidly growing part of this global multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy

The Building Sustainability Unit has been established to provide advice to developers, design teams, RDAs and local authorities on the incorporation of sustainability into developments and construction projects within planning, commercial and economic constraints.

The duties include the provision of technical advice for design strategies, coordinating input from relevant disciplines, including;

•Advising on low energy design
•Simulation of the building environment for Energy Performance Certificates, Part L analysis, or for assessing the feasibility of natural ventilation
•Daylight modelling and the assessment of energy efficient lighting schemes
.Feasibility of the integration of renewables into schemes
•Feasibility of combined heat and power and district heating
•Water saving measures including recycling and harvesting strategies

An understanding of the broader aspects of sustainability is desirable, including experience in undertaking BREEAM and EcoHomes and knowledge of:

•Construction impacts and minimisation strategies
•Social and economic sustainability measures

The successful candidate for this role must be able to demonstrate relevant sustainability training and experience, and ideally would have a First Degree and/or MSc in building services/energy or related discipline; Postgraduate studies in sustainability, energy and computer simulation would be an advantage.
