An opportunity has arisen to work within the Economics and Finance team of the Renewable Energy subdivision of our clients Energy Unit.

Providing economic, financial, policy and strategic advisory services to a varied and extensive list of clients, our client adds value to the businesses they serve by providing support in project negotiations, executing M&A deals, conducting investment appraisal, feasibility studies, market modelling and forecasts, due diligence exercises, formulating national policies, developing business, and risk management strategies and carrying out asset valuation.

The job role requires working with a multidisciplinary team that examines all economic and commercial aspects of various types of energy related projects. Work typically involves developing scenarios for energy markets, investment appraisal for the energy sector, using DCF and CBA methods and the examination of the impacts of economic and environmental regulation on energy markets stakeholders…

In addition, the role would involve managing or leading project work, retaining and developing relationships with clients and potentially developing new business opportunities for the Economics team.

The selected person will support two recently recruited economists and work on a day to day basis under guidance from the Chief Economist. The direct line manager will be the team leader of Finance & Economics Team

You will have a background in economics and a focus on energy/environmental issues. All applicants should be educated to degree level and should have experience within the energy sector, either industry government agency or consultancy

You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of micro/marco economics, have the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team and be prepared to travel worldwide on short business assignments.
