An established multi- disciplinary company who provide studies, development, engineering and project management services for power process and infrastructure projects are looking for a Power Engineering manager to join the Principal Mechanical Engineer And the Principal Civil/Structural Engineer in a range of power sector projects.

This established company has provided a range projects including thermal, hydro and renewable energy as well as transmission and distribution systems to global business over 5 decades.

An Engineering manager is required to take responsibility for a wade range of thermal power station projects which will include

- Project delivery:

Take responsibility for all aspects of the delivery of projects: working with Project Managers or occasionally as the Project Manager to ensure that the projects are delivered to the required quality, time and budget

- Staff management:

Work with the Head of Power and Project Directors to recruit, allocate and mentor the staff required for the projects

- Client care:

establishing and maintaining working relationships with the Clients to determine project delivery requirements, avoid/resolve disputes and develop repeat business.

- Commercial management:

Assist the Project Directors in the commercial performance of the projects, working within the Scott Wilson management systems.

The position will also involve regular, short term trips overseas.

You will be degree qualified with extensive experience in thermal (CCGT, coal, reciprocating engine) power plant projects. You will ideally have a Utility, Consultant or Contractor background where you will have operated at a senior level. You must be comfortable operating in a fully multi-disciplinary project role and be flexible in approach to operate effectively either leading or working with project teams.
