The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary environment interacting with town and country planners, transport planners, economists, landscape architects and other environmental staff on high-profile projects that are at the forefront of good practice. As such, the work is both challenging and rewarding.

The successful candidate will lead the design work for the UK Planning Team in Birmingham and may also be asked to contribute to projects outside of that immediate region. Initially there will be no drawing support staff and therefore the candidate must be self-sufficient in that regard. As the work load grows there will be the opportunity to add junior designers to the office.

In particular, the postholder will be required to produce drawings and written reports for the following projects:- town centre and community master plans, design guides, sustainable urban extensions and submissions to emerging LDFs, including Area Action Plans. We would also expect the candidate to help us respond to bids and proposals for new work.

Candidates with experience of management and design-led projects will be looked upon favourably.

Job requirements include:
> A degree in architecture or landscape architecture, with specialist studies in urban design or equivalent
> Familiar with desk top publishing
> Familiar with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch-Up and other 3D computer modelling software
> Being able to carry out solo remote site visits.
> A driving licence is beneficial
