Our client, a multi-service company providing studies, development, engineering and project management services for power, process and infrastructure projects, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide specialist, mechanical engineering expertise to a wide variety of thermal power projects.
Your main responsibilities will be taking an active role in the responsibility for the management, design and supervision of projects in the Power Sector, specifically by providing expert advise on all aspects of mechanical plant required for thermal power stations. The position will involve regular, possibly frequent short-term visits to overseas projects, therefore you must be able to travel internationally.
Other responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing specialist advice on related aspects of thermal power plant operation such as emission control, waste management etc.
- Delivery of projects: taking day to day responsibility for the hands-on management and delivery of a range of power projects to ensure that the Client’s requirements and the company's management requirements are met.
You will ideally meet the following requirements:
- Have a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Be a Chartered Engineer or working toward this
- Demonstrate extensive expertise on gas and steam turbines, balance of plant equipment, emission control equipment etc.
- Experience in Project and Design Management of power projects including feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, site supervision, testing and acceptance, etc.
