Our client's growing reputation for sustainable urban design, an increasing portfolio of design led urban regeneration projects coupled with continued success from major frameworks with central and regional development agencies has created exciting opportunities in the Design Team in Bristol for a Senior Urban Designer.

Passionate about ensuring all project work is prepared to a high standard of urban design and graphical representation whilst underpinned by the aims of sustainable development, the Principal is a highly driven and motivated individual who aims to ensure all members of the team fulfil their true potential. In order to compliment these attributes, the Principal is now looking for like minded individuals to join the Design Team in order to assist with current project work, and help raise their urban design profile in the region and develop additional urban design capabilities.

Your responsibilities will include:
> Masterplanning and Design and Access Statement preparation to accompany outline planning applications for both residential and office use;
> Concept layouts for small, medium and large scale urban extensions for a variety of clients in support of RSS and LDF representations;
> Assessment of future growth options and input into Core Strategies; and
> EcoHomes/Code for Sustainable Homes/BREEAM pre-assessment reporting and design stage advice.

Whilst much of the focus to project work will be within the South West and South Wales regions, our client's project working ethos means that personnel with relevant expertise will be selected to work on projects across the country. Recent projects, for example, include project work in the north west and Scotland.

Candidate Necessities
> You will have a planning or design (architecture/landscape architecture) related first degree with a Masters/Diploma in Urban Design.
> You will preferably have a background in consultancy, with experience across public and private sectors along with a proven track record in the design led project delivery of masterplans for mixed use developments, urban design strategies and frameworks, design codes and design and access statements.
> Excellent communication required including report writing and graphic presentation: free hand and typical graphic software packages.
