Transport Planner

Our client's have openings for Transport Planners to be based in offices in Essex.Your job role includes:
> Development planning/control e.g. TA, travel plan
> Traffic and economic appraisal of schemes
> Transport modelling e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY, LINGSIG, TRANSYT, VISSIM
> Contributing to bids
> Park and ride studies
> Scoping and supervision of traffic surveys
> Report writing
> To work within project teams with a specific technical role in each team.
Main Duties/Responsibilities include:
> Supporting project managers to deliver projects to the quality, time scale and cost as expected by the client (internal or external clients).> Assisting in the preparation of transport planning proposal in the UK and elsewhere as required.> Assisting in communications, financial, junior staff training and marketing matters as required.> Identifying training needs of oneself as part of MP's PPA/PPD.> Applying MP's QA system to all appropriate projects.
Professional/Educational requirements
> Working towards a chartered membership of an appropriate professional body e.g. MCILT> Must hold a degree and/ or post graduate degree in a numerical subject relating to a transport planning/traffic engineering or equivalent.> Should have around 2 years transport planning knowledge gained on local authority or private sector consultancy.> Should have the technical skills and hands-on experience in transport planning/control fields> Should have good track records in undertaking tasks to the required quality, time scale and costs
