Senior Transport Planner

Our client's have job opportunities in London, Essex and Haywards Heath as Senior Transport Planners to assist with the delivery of transport planning projects, providing technical input. The candidate should be able to:
> Contribute technically to the development of our transport planning offering.
> Take a lead role in the technical delivery of transport planning projects
> Manage processes to ensure the effective project delivery in line with agreed objectives, timescales and costs.
> Ensure best practice, innovation and knowledge sharing throughout the division.
> Contribute to a technically based transport planning library in order to maximise knowledge management.
> Contribute to effective team working to ensure the delivery of a full range of transport planning services to the client.
You should be:
> Degree educated or equivalent.
> Working towards a professional qualification in a related discipline.
Knowledge/Experience
> Understanding of the structure of transport planning in the UK.
> Awareness of current and pending legislation that impacts on planning and delivery of transport planning in the UK.
> Understanding of transport planning in its broader sense (development control, transport modelling).
> Knowledge of transport assessments and in particular development of travel plans.
> Awareness of topical issues in both central and local government.
> Knowledge and experience of intelligence transport systems.
> Experience of working with local government and private sector clients.
> Track record of delivering transport projects.
> Experience of feasibility studies as part of policy and strategy development.
> Technical Skills/Ability
> Highly numerate.
> Strong report writing skills.
> Competent in junction and network modelling.
