It provides expert safety, environmental, risk and asset management advice and operational solutions to many of the UKs civil nuclear sites.

This post represent and exciting opportunity for applied physicists, engineers and mathematical modellers who wish to develop expertise in heat transfer, fluid flow and related technologies.

You will work within a large department of scientists and engineers working on a diverse range of projects and portfolio of client. Project Management will become an integral part of the Thermal Hydraulics Consultants role.

As consultant your key responsibilities will be;

- provision of technical consultancy within the UK nuclear sector, including analysing problems and developing solutions
- provision of independent nuclear safety advice to clients
- application, testing and validation of computer codes to stimulate nuclear reactor performance
- involvement of research tasks in civil or defence nuclear sector
- leading and assisting with the development of contract
- project management
- new business opportunities

Requirements;

You must be educated to degree level in mathematics, physics and engineering, with a relevant post graduate degree. Previous exposure to the civil nuclear industry or defence nuclear sector, and experience of the application of mathematical modelling to nuclear reactor systems and knowledge of heat transfer and fluid flow.

Security clearance to work on defence related projects will be required.
