Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hampshire, Kent, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £Negotiable

Due to continued growth of our client's business, they are looking to recruit new Quantity Surveyors to be based in Scotland, Cambridge, London, Hampshire, Maidstone and Aldermaston.

Your Key Activities for the successful candidates include:

• Maintain effective communication with contract managers, project management, managing / project QS and other associated disciplines.

• Assist in staff matters which may include: recruitment, attitude and behavioural issues, competency, retainment and staff allocation to meet a project’s need.

• Manage, supervise, mentor and train your “reports” within the commercial structure.

• Carry out staff performance and development reviews and assist in the management of the commercial training programme.

• Provide and control strategy of commercial contacts with client’s representatives.

• Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to subcontract documents.

• Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments and resolving disputed issues by negotiation, if appropriate.

• Provide input to risk profiling and general management on projects.

• Initiate discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.

• Supervise change management including adherence to the programme ‘established approach’.

• Ensure timely production of adequate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provisions of the conditions of contract.

• Provide commercial advice to the site team, and management of all contractual issues.

• Manage time and workloads for yourself and the commercial team in a structured manner.

Your Qualifications and Experience should be:

• Knowledge of quantity surveying to corporate member level of ICES or RICS (preferred) or equivalent.

• Successful experience at quantity surveyor level.

• Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.

• Enhanced understanding of construction law and contractual terms in all standard contract forms.
