Our client's are currently looking for Quantity Surveyors for their London and Scotland offices.
Key Activities include:
> Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards
> Maintain effective communication with project management and / or managing / project / senior QS and other associated disciplines.
> Assist in staff matters which may include: attitude and behavioural issues, competency and retainment.
> Provide input to junior commercial staff performance and development, including reviews.
> Provide commercial input to contacts with client’s representatives.
> Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to subcontract documents.
> Commercial management of subcontractors including processing payments and inputting into dispute resolution.
> Produce monthly cost and value reports, quarterly reports and cashflow information and present to senior management.
> Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.
> Promote usage of Company procedures and suggest improvements to site procedures.
> Deal with change management including adherence to the programme ‘established approach’.
> Ensure timely production and presentation of adequate levels of applications for payments in accordance with the provision of the conditions of contract.
> Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues.
> Attend and provide input to project start-up and close-out meetings.
> Assist with the production of insurance claims.
Qualifications and Experience should be:
> Knowledge of quantity surveying to corporate member level of ICES or RICS (preferred) or equivalent.
> Successful experience at Section QS level.
> Enhanced knowledge of construction procedures and working methods.
> Understand basic contract law and contractual obligations.
