The role will involve advising on the sustainability aspects of new developments of all sizes, with a specific focus on the energy performance of buildings and the use of renewable energy systems.

The role will involve generating feasibility studies for renewable energy technologies, assessing new and existing developments in line with Building Regulations as well as working closely with the Code for Sustainable Homes. You will need to have a complete understanding of sustainability issues in the development process and be able to recommend practical, achievable, cost effective and innovative solutions to clients, communicating these effectively and persuasively.

Office based, however it will be a requirement to travel around the South East and regularly to London.

The salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include private healthcare cover and contributory pension scheme.

Essential Criteria

- Excellent spoken and written English
- A good understanding of, and interest in, sustainability issues
- A head for figures
- An appreciation of how energy is used in buildings, and a knowledge of energy efficiency principles
- An ability to convey complex ideas in simple terms to a range of audiences
- A basic understanding of the Code for Sustainable Homes and SAP
- A good knowledge of renewable energy technologies and how they work
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite competently, and computer literate generally
- Professionalism, determination and a drive to succeed

Desirable Criteria

- Code for Sustainable Homes qualified assessor status
- Qualified SAP assessor status
- A degree in a relevant discipline
- Consultancy experience in a professional environment
