This is an excellent opportunity to join a scientific institute which leads the world in genomic research, with an expanding scientific programme dedicated to understanding gene function in health & disease.

They are seeking an experienced health and safety professional to manage the operational activities of its H&S Team. The Team provides competent advice and assistance services to a range of occupiers on the research site near Cambridge.

Your main role will be to manage the team of five Health & Safety Advisers providing a service to occupiers engaged in both scientific and support activities and participating in routine and project based operational work. Reporting to the Head of Campus Health & Safety and Laboratory Facilities you will also contribute to the development and implementation of a new Health & Safety strategy.

Applicants should have a scientific background and must hold a recognised Health & Safety qualification at a minimum of NEBOSH Diploma level or acceptable equivalent, with substantial experience as a health and safety adviser gained in a scientific/biological research environment. Proven and demonstrable leadership competence is essential.
