Our clients' have a position available for a Transport Planner which covers all aspects of transport planning from policy research and strategic appraisal through to development assessment and traffic engineering.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player to strengthen the Networks and Traffic business unit in Newcastle, who will welcome the challenge of developing, designing and implementing traffic engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects. This role also includes being able to work within a team.
Your responsibilities include:
> Run smaller projects of single discipline on his/her own without day-to-day supervision
> Identify project resource requirements
> Allocate tasks to project team, check and monitor the work of the team
> Ensure that project work is carried out within agreed timescales and budget
> Attend meetings as required
> Evaluating engineering problems, prepare detailed methodologies and designs, draw up specifications, programmes and cost estimates for specific jobs
Priority will be given to candidates with (knowledge/experience of) several of the following:
> Transport related MSc
> UK local authority background
> UK transport planning market
> Staff supervision
> Knowledge of TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY and PICADY would be an advantage.
