A joint venture between 4 leading engineering contractors are currently working on the largest ever road construction project in Scotland and are seeking an experienced design coordinator or site engineer to assist their current workload, in order to deliver the project prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Working within an Engineering team of 8, the Design Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of aspects of the permanent design and interfaces between the design & construction teams. Role responsibilities will vary from on-site reviews of ongoing engineering works to monitoring the production of design information and coordinating information between contractors and consultants.

Some responsibilities will include:
- Coordination with the construction team to produce an integrated design
- Conducting a technical review of the project design
- Monitoring the production of design information against procurement programme
- Checking and auditing information provided by the Design team against project requirements
- Taking part in internal work meetings with procurement and construction team
- Monitoring the detailed schedule of design work and performs follow-up audits
- Reviewing the Non-Conformity Files

The successful candidate will hold a degree within a engineering discipline, have a good grasp of Engineering procedures and processes, hold previous experience as either a design site representative or site engineer with design input and have experience of multi –discipline design and build projects.
