Our clients' are looking for an experienced town planner/manager with a track record in development control, allied to production of area based planning studies or policy preparation, ideally with an emphasis on private sector client base.
An urban design qualification would be an added advantage. You will be educated to degree level in a planning or regeneration related subject and ideally have a secondary professional qualification in surveying, urban design, project management.
You will have experience of project managing masterplan related work and a track record of winning and delivering commissioned to private sector players
Strong understanding of the Government's Urban Design, Urban Renaissance and regeneration agendas is essential, together with the ability to communicate with knowledge and enthusiasm to a wide range of clients, stakeholders and local communities.
The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to play a key role in promoting regeneration, planning and management work, co-ordinating and managing to time, cost and quality targets.
The person appointed will be supported by a pool of staff in the planning and regeneration team who will be allocated to project teams as required. You wil be expected to make a strong contribution to business development, resource planning and bidding work, making use of strong contacts with private sector developers.
A sound knowledge of wider regeneration issues in the North and Midlands would be a clear advantage in this work, as would a track record in development control, policy and community consultation. Flexibility and willingness to turn a hand to other work at times is also important - the team deals with broad range of planning and regeneration work and flexibility is important.
You should also have a Full Driving Licence.
