Our clients' are looking for a Town Planner to be based in their offices in Leeds and Manchester.
Your specific duties will include:
> Providing specialist in-house and external advice on planning matters;
> Managing major planning applications through the preparation, submission and negotiation stages;
> Preparation and/presentation of statements at planning hearings or inquiries;
> Preparation of planning briefs or similar input;
> Client liaison during projects;
> Identification of new business opportunities and prospects.
Candidates should have a proven track record in town planning and must hold a relevant degree or masters degree that is RTPI accredited.
Experience of working within a planning team in either of the private or public sectors is essential.
In addition candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
> Good interpersonal skills together with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
> Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, plus well developed analytical skills;
> Ability to manage a demanding workload;
> Ability to work under minimal supervision as well as being the project leader when necessary;
> A thorough understanding of the planning system;
> Commercial awareness.
