Head of CDM Group is required to work within a buoyant CDM developer with a total workforce of around about 30 people.

Our client seeks a highly motivated team builder – with strong organisational skills and extensive knowledge of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) – to lead its CDM team. Candidates should have significant hands-on experience in applying CDM rules and methodologies and proven leadership skills necessary to engage, stimulate and mentor a team of senior- and junior-level staff. You will meld the project development team and provide them with guidance on methodological issues as well as project development and documentation. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the CDM project portfolio, including screening of incoming project proposals, approval of project documentation, and managing projects that are under implementation in the CDM project cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
• Managing and providing guidance for a team of approximately 10 CDM senior- and junior-level staff. The size of the team may increase, depending on the flow of projects.
• Managing and maintaining an overview of all CDM projects under development and implementation (currently approximately 100 projects) and regularly reporting on status and progress to the Director.
• Developing and implementing a set of screening criteria for evaluating potential project ideas.
• Providing guidance to division staff regarding portfolio strategies, PDDs (including methodologies and demonstrating additionality), project registration and monitoring, and issuance procedures.
• Acting as a liaison with DOEs regarding project validation and verification.
• Working in dialogue with the Director on strategic development of the CDM project portfolio.
• Making technical presentations to clients if required.

Required qualifications, experience and skills:

• Relevant degree from a leading university in the country of education.
• Significant professional experience and at least 5 years of relevant CDM experience.
• Proven experience in leading a team.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral).
• Computer literacy.

Remuneration:

Our client has a generous remuneration policy including salary and benefits. The CDM Group Head’s salary will be determined based on the skills and expertise of the successful candidate.
