This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest Engineering consultancies within their specialised nuclear division as a Principal Nuclear Consultant fulfilling the role of Safety Case Lead based from our clients Berkshire or South London offices, working as part of a team of nuclear safety specialists.

The role requires an in-depth understanding of integrating safety with design. The successful candidate will lead the design justification process and will advise the Design Team Leader and Design Discipline Leads on nuclear safety-related matters during the design development. The Safety Case Lead is also the key interface between the Design Team and the existing Project Safety Case Manager.

You should be qualified with a scientific or engineering degree and have a sound technical or engineering design background gained from significant experience having worked within a comparable safety critical environment. Candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of nuclear safety legislation (including site licensing requirements) and have a proven track record of project management, specifically the management of safety case delivery or design delivery.
