majority of the investments and trading involve project-related emissions credits, known
as Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs), within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol.The Carbon Management Specialist role will involve but not be limited to the following tasks:
? Review of project information before submission for validation and registration
? Building/leading of technical department units, including procedures and training
? Project risk assessment with regards to financial viability, compliance with GHG
accounting schemes such as the JI, CDM, VCS, GS
? Representation of the company at conferences and workshopsQualification & Education:
- Preference for university degree or equivalent in a technical area: engineering, biology,
environmental science, geography, transport, agronomy, etc;
- Areas of interest: transport, renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies,
environment or greenhouse gas, quality and environmental systems;
- Masters degree or equivalent in environmental sciences/engineering, finance or a
related degree.Experience:
- Engineering and / or Project management experience in the energy, oil and gas,
environment, waste or other industrial sector;
- Experience with GHG accounting schemes, developing PDDs and CDM methodologies
as well as assisting project developers through the CDM cycle;
- Experience with project financing;
- Experience of managing staff and working within teams.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Very good level of written and verbal English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to manage own work effectively and prioritize tasks
- Advanced excel skills required
- Strong analytical/ quantitative skills and advanced computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Advanced Organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a fast
paced environment
- Travel required.
