One of the top environmental and energy focused consultancies in the UK are seeking Energy Consultants to join their team in Leeds although opportunities exist across the UK and overseas. The Energy consultants are given exposure to a wide range of areas including Contaminated Land, Climate Change, Waste, Risk & Asset Management and Compliance & Resource Management.

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting energy surveys and carbon reduction projects in either industry or buildings and therefore experience of energy management in an industrial or commercial environment would be useful but is not essential.

You will analyse energy consumption patterns using regression analysis to establish relationships between energy use and production activities Conduct energy surveys, audits and process analysis to gather relevant process and energy consumption data. This will lead to the development of technical and strategic solutions to energy efficiency issues. This might involve design of heat recovery systems (but not individual items of equipment), selection of boilers, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, meters and measurement systems, monitoring and targeting software and the set up of energy management software and programmes at client premises

You will need a good understanding of climate change issues and the mitigation measures that businesses can carry out to reduce carbon emissions and will preferably be currently operating as a consultant. However if you have a process or building design engineering background and can adapt your knowledge to a consultancy role you will be considered.

Other skills required include
- Strong project management abilities.
- Strong client interfacing skills and the ability to gain ‘buy in’ from senior managers.
- Good communication skills,
- A team player
- The ability to work to deadlines
- Self-starter capabilities and the ability to work under your own initiative.


Applicants will be welcomed from those with high level 1st degree, ideally chemical, mechanical, process, electrical or a similar discipline. Support will be given for those seeking to become chartered engineers or scientists on an individual basis.
