Our client is looking for an SHEQ Advisor to support the development, deployment and use of business management systems that meet business needs in order to manage risks to product quality and consistency, the environment, health & safety, and to assure compliance and continually improve performance.The job holder may:
• Plan, undertake and report on the management activities and processes with HOD’s and departmental teams
• Make recommendations for improvements to the controls deployed by departments
• Contact any member of staff as part of programmed audits, inspection and reviews
• Support, coach and provide technical advice to aid the development of suitable controls and procedures and in the use of relevant management systems and tools
• Recommend training and competency requirement to all levels of employees and advise and coach
• Liaise with other departments including Internal Audit to encourage, support and plan audit programmes
• Escalate issues of concern and seek support to stop work where significant uncontrolled risks are encountered
• Produce accurate, appropriate and timely reports for various audiences to meet business needs
• Liaise with external agencies, organisations, including certifiers and contractors etc and review policies, programmes of work etc to ensure risks to people, property and the environment are controlled
• Assist the head of department and managers in the development of team members.
You will possess an understanding and awareness of value and use of management systems and relevant standards and their application. A relevant degree or equivalent industrial/commercial qualification and relevant experience is needed as is experience in the development, application, use and monitoring of management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001.The position will require travel so a full clean driving licence is essential. You will also work flexibly from a number of locations.
