A very well established global consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior International Resettlement and Social Impact Consultant to carry out and manage Resettlement Action Plan and Social Impact Assessment projects for a wide range of overseas projects.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage projects, including undertaking research, analysis, work-planning, team briefing, budgeting and progress, project and financial monitoring in order to ensure that all projects are delivered to budget
-Identify and follow up business opportunities with existing and new clients, in liaison with Directors, managing and contributing to proposals and assisting junior staff with proposal writing.
-Carry out social assessments and social impact assessments as either ‘stand-alone’ work or as part of Environmental Impact Assessments and Resettlement Action Plans.
-Manage and supervise activities and providing coaching and guidance to more junior members of the team.
The role requires regular travel to other UK offices and frequent overseas travel particularly to developing countries.
Key Skills:
Sound knowledge of World Bank and International Finance Corporation guidelines especially those pertaining to involuntary resettlement*
Knowledge and experience of participatory research methods such as PRA
Public consultation techniques and how these apply in a resettlement context
Research methods for conducting household surveys and socio-economic baseline data collection
