This is an exciting opportunity to join our client a leading global multi-disciplinary engineering service provider with annual revenues exceeding £5bn. Joining as a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager, the successful candidate will be based on a single site in South West Cumbria working on a new build construction site for a defence project.
Responsibilities of this role will include;
Influencing and supporting the project team in pursuit of HSE performance.
Assisting in the development and deployment of leading performance indicators.
Coaching and supporting the principal contractor from within the clients management team.
Assisting in the development of strategic action plans that support continual improvement.
Candidates should have an understanding of;
Demolition of existing buildings.
Asbestos abatement works.
Reconfiguration of existing utilities.
Design, construction and building of super-structure and sub-structure, facility support utilities and external infrastructure.
You will ideally be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (CMIOSH), have experience of working within a management role in the construction industry influencing client, design and contractor teams and have a thorough knowledge of CDM.
This is a sizeable construction project making up part of a prestigious defence contract which will require you to be security vetted offering up excellent career prospects and international opportunities in the long term.
This is a permanent opportunity, although contractors will potentially be considered.
