-Qualification Requirement
Minimum - Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng.)
Membership of internationally recognised Professional Institute desirable.
- Experience Level Needed
Proven experience in power stations or utility substation design with a consultancy firm or engineering division of a large EPC company. You are a technical expert with specialisation in the area of HV substation or power station design,
you perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Take decisions on significant design and engineering procedures.
You perform detail design of medium to high voltage / extra high voltage utility substations to include one-line diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation / power station equipment specifications and cost estimates, tender evaluation, etc.
You are conversant with relevant European and US International standards (such as IEC, IEEE, BS-EN, etc.).
You would be required to serve as Project Manager on large projects, however project management is not the sole focus of this position.
The successful applicant must be a resourceful self-starter able to work both independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision
You will be expected to be progressive and imaginative in your work and strive to add value where possible for the benefit of the company and our clients.
You must have a can-do attitude and be interested in working in and committing to a hands on engineering role.
