A major financial institute is seeking a purchasing manager who can deliver on purchasing functions on sustainability and ethical sourcing of a widely diverse range of products and services, sourced from external suppliers. Key element of the role will include:
• The development and planned implementation of supply chain strategies that the sustainability programme.
• Establishment of effective communication structures to establish and share best practise in sustainable procurement across the company.
• Delivering a tool kit to support implementation at territory level and a monitoring and measurement framework to provide tracking of strategy implementation and effective reporting at functional and corporate levels.
• Strategies that will ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal sustainability guidelines, total conformance to agreed specifications, delivery of goods and services to specified quality standards, at the most effective price and with appropriate an ethical approach
• Maintaining the highest professional and business ethical standards and developing a close working relationship with the Energy and Climate Change manager and other colleagues within the Corporate Sustainability team.

The successful person will have the following skills and attributes:

• Experience of implementing sustainable and ethical business practises within previous roles at a tactical and strategic level

• Experience in Purchasing Management, ideally across a range of products and services.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and an effective negotiator at an advanced level.

• Hold the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualification (preferred).

• Possess a strong understanding and working knowledge of commercial law.
