Our client in Brighton is looking for a GIS Technician to support senior members of the team. The company is a growing Environmental Risk Screening and Geographical Information Company developing products and services focusing on contaminative land issues.

The role provides a fantastic opportunity to enter the GIS and environmental industries, where you will provide GIS support to the GIS department and rest of company as required. Duties the role will entail include:
• Database QA and cleaning
• Database updating and maintenance
• Data capture and map registration
• Sourcing and processing of map collections
• Map preparation
• Report generation
• Data analysis and feedback report writing

Candidates should have a desire to enter the GIS industry with preferably a background in Geography or Environmental Science or other related discipline. The position will allow the successful candidate to use MapInfo and database packages such as Excel and Access therefore strong computer skills are required. Candidates must be highly organized and accurate with a strong attention to detail. Any programming experience is advantageous.
