Principal Bridge Engineer required for this specialist consultancy with fantastic experience in the field.

The Infrastructure group is seeing rapid growth and the portfolio of work means a Principal is required to join the successful team. You will undertake a wide variety of projects which are technically demanding and often at the forefront of sustainable developments.

You will be required to provide technical, support as required and key responsibilities are as follows:-

Technical development of (elements of) design projects:
Preparation of designs for maritime and associated structures, from initial concepts through to detailed designs.
Production of design calculations, checking and reviewing of calculations
produced by others.
Producing sketch drawings and details for CAD drawing by others checking and reviewing of these prior to issue.
Preparation of specifications, Bills of Quantities and assistance with contract documents for construction projects.
Providing technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to design engineers in the team and other project design teams.
Manage and direct more junior staff.
Coach junior staff in technical matters.
Undertake project work as required.
Manage projects as required.
Carry out inspections and surveys, preparation of reports, structural analyses and reporting.
Provide sound engineering judgement and advice.
Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior staff.
Commercial and technical management of projects within the office, ensuring that projects show a profitable result.

Your qualifications and experience should include:
Chartership
Experience in planning and design of steel and reinforced concrete highway bridges, including finite element analysis
Retaining wall and piling design experience and experience of maritime design methods.
