Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar PV Development Specialist for its European renewables development team.

The team, based in London, is responsible for our client’s principal investment activities in the renewable energy sector, with a specialist team focussing on sourcing investments across a range of renewable technologies including wind, solar, hydro, biomass, biogas and geothermal.

You will be responsible for leading the strategy of originating and developing solar PV projects. These projects will be primarily in Italy with the potential to explore opportunities in other attractive markets. These projects can be undertaken in conjunction with a local partner. Other solar technologies, such as solar thermal, are also being pursued as part of the strategy.

As a senior executive, you should have a full understanding of all aspects of solar PV development and, ideally, in-depth knowledge of the Italian market. You will work with various team members on the selection and terms of new projects and assist in acquiring interests in local developers.

Experience with other renewable technologies and in other countries would be an advantage.

To succeed, you will:

- demonstrate a solid understanding of the Italian solar PV industry and have worked closely with, or demonstrated experience as, a solar developer;

- be commercially astute and have a strong understanding of business issues;

- enjoy an entrepreneurial and flexible working environment;

- be able to build, sustain and develop relationships across our client's global teams and the developers with whom we have strategic partnerships; and

- possess superior Italian language & cultural skills.
