Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, requires a Business Development Manager to expand the range and size of the company's hydro business in the UK and other worldwide markets.
You will assist in the growth of a dynamic UK based team providing a range of hydro related services to clients worldwide. Additionally, you will be expected to form close relationships with other divisions and external organisations to win business for the group.
As such your main responsibilities will include:
• Build and maintain client relationships around the world and to inform them of the company's hydro capabilities and aspirations
• Analyse and develop business development strategies based on an understanding of the requirements of the market, the capabilities of the existing staff and the probable availability of new recruits.
• Be a central member of the management team for the hydro business
• Recommend staffing requirements
• Manage the preparation of proposals and expressions of interest in conjunction with other team members
• Prepare business plans in conjunction with the sub-division manager and other team members
You will ideally be familiar with the hydroelectric power market and have a thorough understanding of a wide range of the technical disciplines so that you could develop provide sensible responses to clients problems and issues. Ideally you will have a proven track record in winning work.
A degree in an appropriate discipline (preferably engineering related) and a willingness to travel overseas, including visits to remote locations are required. Visits would normally be of one to two weeks.
