If you are working in a highway engineering related discipline and want to develop your career this role can offer you the opportunity to provide development control consultancy services to the Highways Agency.

As part of this role you will provide quality development control advice within the Client's time frame and statutory consultation period of the planning process. You will also assess developer's proposals for compliance with Strategic Road Network policy and design standards along with delegating appropriate tasks to junior members of staff.

You should have a working knowledge of applying the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges to highway engineering problems. Also have an understanding of professional liabilities, such as 'designer competency', Health and Safety at Work and Construction Design Management Regulations.
