Leading consultancy in renewable energy, power generation and transmission, including wind, wave, hydro, solar and bioenergy is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join an expanding implementation team based in Glasgow, Scotland. The company is growing rapidly and offers excellent long-term career prospects for their project engineers in wind and other renewables.

This role is dedicated to the technical development services provided for clients building wind farms and clean energy projects in China.

The principal responsibilities of this position include:
- Assist in the preparation of risk analysis and other documentation as required in the project planning legislation.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of tenders and proposals required for the technical service of the project.
- Place, monitor and manage the Balance of Plant (BoP) and Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) contracts.
- Liaise with the Chinese contractors, supervision companies and operational team to ensure compliance with official planning criteria.
- Site visits to wind farm projects in China
- Production of monthly progress reports, monitoring progress against the agreed project programme and the financial status.
- Production of project final accounts detailing any variations.
- Preparation and issue of practical completion certificates.
- Production of project lifecycle cost databases for renewable energy projects.

Essential criteria:
- Fluent English and Chinese (Mandarin) written and oral skills.
- Degree qualification in a technical Project Management/ engineering related discipline.
- Ability to demonstrate familiarity with Chinese construction legislation.
- The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability and good organisational skills are paramount.
- IT proficiency with extensive exposure to spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel and project management software such as Microsoft Office Project, CAD, CCS (Construction Computer Software) and Mindjet MindManager would be advantageous.
- Experience and knowledge of energy projects including wind farms would be a distinct advantage.
