My client is seeking a Transport Economist to work within the team of economists in the London office. The work will be wide ranging covering both Transport Economics (scheme appraisal, demand and revenue forecasting, policy analysis) and Development Economics (economic development strategies, EIAs, retail impacts, tourism studies) and probably more general transport aspects as well. The consultancy covers a range of transport modes including rail, bus, highway, freight, personal rapid transit (eg ULTRA) and occasionally covering ports and airports.

My client is known for encouraging staff to progress rapidly to managing projects and preparing proposals a well as undertaking technical work. This is done because that experience makes people better at project work as well as making the job more interesting.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Expertise

Extensive experience in Economics with preference in Transport and Development

Excellent communication skills with a high standard of spoken and written English

Proficient uses of IT and all relevant software packages

Demonstrate accuracy, attention to detail and high levels of presentation
