Senior Building Designer - Energy

Senior Building Physicist required by one of the ten best big Companies to work for and a worlds leading consultancies operating in the built and natural environment.
Job Description:As the regions leading provider of architectural and engineering design services to the built environment, our client is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine innovation, imagination and best practice.
Due to their ongoing expansion a new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Physicist.You will carry out Building Physics / Sustainable Design Services, particularly virtual prototyping of design options including passive design, faade, ventilation, daylighting, energy, materials, water and renewable/alternative energy options.
Within your role you will need to coordinate with Architects, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Structural Engineers and any other design consultants as well as carry out arithmetical checks and independent design checks of other Building Physicists design and design reviews in accordance with the company's quality procedures.
Hence you will be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of their own work and the work of the team and will be asked to complete sustainable design work within the agreed programme, or notify the Head of Department if not able to do so Essential Requirements:Degree qualified minimum requirement of BEng, BArch or environmental design related masters degree.
Some experience working in sustainable design (and technical verification thereof) for Private, Government, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Hotel markets.
Experience of environmental design software IES Design Suite, Ecotect, Radiance.
Understanding of British, American and International engineering and environmental design standards.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
Teamwork able to cooperate with others and lead a small team
Problem solving able to analyse problems and creatively develop solutions
Time management able to prioritise and plan ahead
Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way DesirablePractical experience in engineering services or architectural design.
IEng or CEng qualification preferred.
Design services for High Rise (50+ storey) Towers an advantage
Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles advantageous
Middle East or hot climate experience
