One of the worlds leading multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancies require a Technical Director with knowledge and experience of the economics of sustainability.You will have good knowledge of economic development, development planning, or strategy and evaluation; as well as strong market awareness and marketing skills and the ability to project manage assignments.Working to develop new business and build on existing business opportunities for the economics of sustainability, you will be responsible for developing, agreeing and follow through of a business plan.To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience in either:Property, Planning and Sustainability - A good understanding of sustainability opportunities relating to property development, such as EPCs, Code for Sustainable Homes and public sector climate change action plans required. You will focus on developing strategies and market analysis in this area.Energy Sector Strategies and Emissions Trading - With a strong background in economics and strategic appraisal, perhaps coming from an energy company or corporation, you would have a good awareness of the activities of businesses in the energy sector and major carbon generating organisations required to take part in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. Particular focus of role would include advice on the development of ESCOs and the interrelationship between centralised and locally generated power strategies.Sector Analysis, Business Planning and Economic Appraisal - Experience of applying sector analysis to the sustainability field, assessment of public sector initiatives; feasibility studies for CHP/decentralised energy schemes required.
