Principal Transport Planner

Our client is looking for Principle Transport Planners to carry out traffic control calculations, site acceptance and factory acceptance tests. There are two positions available, one in the East Midlands and one in Surrey.

Other responsibilities for the successful candidates will include:

> Junction and network modelling.
> Carrying out public transport assessments, public transport modelling and travel plans.

This is an exciting opportunity for a developing technical contributor to join our successful and rapidly growing technical team.

The jobholder is likely to be continuing his/her professional development and have a reasonable level of competence in his/her own area whilst still acquiring higher-level skills.

The role involves important client responsibilities including managing client expectations, documenting technical and project related material, identifying and resolving problems, and notifying management of any required changes.

The role is responsible for identifying opportunities to expand existing business, and the jobholder interfaces with client managers to build a broad and influential network, and uses multiple methods of communication to increase acceptance and support within clients.

Some candidate recommendations include:

You must be a graduate in a discipline that would be recognised by CILT, ICE, IHT, IHIE.

Some experience of junction capacity assessments, using either LINSIG or TRANSYT.

Experience of ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY, PARAMICS, VISSIM or SATURN would be an advantage.

Ideally you will have a Masters degree in a transport related subject would be an advantage.

You should have extensive experience in Transport Assessments for major developments for private and public centre clients.
