Consultant / Senior Transport Planner

Our clients' are looking for a Consultant / Senior Transport Planner to be based in their offices in Bristol.The role involves a level of responsibility from the outset which comprises the management of projects and people in the delivery of innovative transport solutions in planning for new developments including residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use schemes. The position will involve close liaison with all key stakeholders, being able to translate clients' needs into practical requirements and to communicate effectively the value of our clients' services in achieving their goals. The role involves specific project responsibilities including the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other transport related applications, as well as the monitoring of progress against timescales and financial objectives. The successful applicant will also be required to provide support to team members as well as documenting and sharing success stories based on the application of knowledge and best practice across different client bases and markets.The successful candidate will need the following requirements:> CMILT, MICE or MIHT advantageous
> Post-graduate qualification in traffic/transportation advantageous. The successful candidate will have:> Significant broad transport planning experience with significant specialist capability in at least two of the following areas:
> Transport and junction assessments, including ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG or TRANSYT.
> Micro-simulation using VISSIM or PARAMICS.
> Transport Masterplanning to include urban design and the application of the Manual for Streets (MfS)
Experienced in the planning process to enable consents to be granted for access issues relating to development sites.
> The ability to write, negotiate and collate Transport Assessments in support of planning applications at development sites.
> The ability to undertake negotiation in agreeing the basis for S106 and S278 agreements.
> Experience in preparation of proofs of evidence for planning enquiries in support of expert witnesses.
> The ability to complete and implement parking strategy assessments for local authority clients.
> The ability to compile and agree the scope of Travel Plans for both commercial and residential development
