Our client is a leading global consulting firm.
Their Energy Practice in the UK is now looking for a talented economist with strong analytical skills to support their current client base and impressive growth strategy. They work with governments, regulators, regulated market administrators, energy providers, energy investors, and lawyers to address energy policy, regulation, regulated market, and energy economic issues.
As a Consultant you will be involved in a variety of projects. Your role will involve supporting an assignment manager in delivering advice to clients on projects based on the team's insight underpinned by sound economic analysis. This could involve gathering information through research, analysing and process information to develop recommendations, and creating reports and presentations to deliver messages. As a member of this practice, you can expect to consult to a wide range of clients throughout the UK and Europe. Based from their head office in London you should also expect to travel and work on client sites and you should have the unconditional right to work globally.
You will have consulting experience, as well as excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
You will ideally also have a background in European electricity (and gas) markets together with an excellent academic record, to Master level. These skills will be underpinned with exceptional capabilities in the following areas:
- Highly valuation and analytical mind set, with a passion for problem-solving;
- Economic Modelling: expertise in developing complex models on large data sets using a range of modelling techniques, from deterministic to stochastic analysis;
- Energy Industry: Understand the fundamental drivers behind electricity (and gas) markets and an understanding of the electricity value chain;
- Be a collaborative team player with drive and commitment required to succeed in challenging situations and self-motivated in ability to use own initiative and work with limited supervision and direction.
