An excellent opportunity to work for one of the UK’s largest Water companies via one of the prominent tier one contractors to the Water Sector.
 
You will be supporting the construction managers and site teams on the requirements for implementing the health and safety management system to ensure compliance with company policy and relevant legislation in particular on construction sites. You will report directly to the District Health and Safety Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Provide support to the regional management teams to enable compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Provide support to regional management teams on the implementation of HSE guidance and best practice.
• Carry out systematic audits and inspections of construction sites, mobile workplaces (men in vans) offices and other workplaces to verify compliance with the legislative requirements and compliance with the requirements of the health and safety management systems.
• Report the findings of assessments to the workplace managers and jointly agree any actions required and time-scales for completion.
• Monitor the satisfactory resolution of health and safety problems.
• Identify opportunities for improvement.
 
Required qualifications and experience:
 
Extensive experience of health and safety practice with at least one year in the Water Treatment 
industry

• Knowledge of current and pending European Directives for health and safety
• Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
• Knowledge of current and pending European Directives for health and safety
• Knowledge of current statutory health and safety law in the UK
• Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM)
• Knowledge of good practice in construction, e.g. HSE guidance and approved codes of practice.
• Knowledge and experience of OHSAS 18001 (or similar management systems)
• This position requires a degree of flexibility as you may be required to work in other regions/locations
