The Client

Our client is a multi-disciplinary building consultancy providing a variety of professional services to both private and public sectors throughout the North of England. They provide the highest standards of building surveying services and the practice has expanded over the years throughout their architecture, facilities and project management divisions working for a variety of clients including commercial, educational and ecclesiastical organizations.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Principal Building Surveyor to take an active role in leading the management of the building surveying division and be involved in the overall development of the practice. You would be responsible for managing instructions from inception to completion, demonstrate and provide competent core building surveying skills to a wide client base, be responsible for all aspects of the project including client and contractor liaison, and be able to lead a team of technical/professional staff.

The successful Building Surveyor would be involved with pre-acquisition surveys, analytical examination of building defects, preparation of specifications and contracts administration, dilapidation issues & party wall matters.
An excellent package will be offered to the successful candidate who can demonstrate that they can fulfil the requirements detailed above and also contribute to the further development of the practice.

About You

  • Have held a senior position within a similar organisation
  • Be able to demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Provide a competent and professional approach in delivery of instructions.
  • Have a working knowledge of CAD packages would be beneficial.
  • Have a good working knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Be technically competent.
  • Hold a current and clean driving license.
