Our Client is one of Europe's largest Engineering Consultancies, you will form part of a global network of 8,000 professionals based around 300 offices.

They are looking for a Senior Consultant or Consultant to work within their Energy Team preparing planning and permit applications for a variety of renewable energy schemes (solar, onshore wind, hydro and biomass) and assisting other members of the team to complete work from internal and external clients.


To provide support and direction to planning and permit applications for renewable energy schemes, and assisting other members of the team to complete work from internal and external clients.
Assist in preparation and checking of reports for issue to clients and regulators.
Liaise with clients to deliver ongoing and new projects
Communicate with regulators to ensure projects are delivered to the desired standards and outcomes.
Manage workloads to prioritise critical pathways.
Communicate to a high standard with internal departments and sub-consultants to ensure delivery of work on time.
Assist in overall project administration and record keeping


Sound knowledge of current environmental planning and permitting regulations and codes of practice is essential, including Development Consent Orders (DCO), Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA), Planning practice guidance for renewable and low carbon energy
Working knowledge of renewable energy developments (solar, onshore wind, hydro and biomass) and terminology is essential
Experience in modelling packages such as WindPRO is highly desirable
A good understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines and understanding of a variety of project consent routes is advantageous
Experience of co-ordinating and managing EIAs and SEAs including the preparation of Scoping Reports, option/feasibility studies, preparing assessment chapters would be advantageous
Competent in standard office computer packages (Word, Excel etc)
Professional Membership and Qualifications
Membership of appropriate professional organisation.
Degree in relevant subject.
Chartered Status or working towards relevant professional membership.
Experience working in relevant field.
Dependable and reliable
Able to undertake work in a safe and considered manner.
Prepared to work on own initiative.
Able to communicate to a high standard
