My client is looking for a talented Senior Engineer to join their Edinburgh office. In this role, you will be contributing towards delivery of increased turnover in both public and private sector markets in both Scotland and the wider UK. You will also be responsible for contributing to the growth and development of the flood and coastal risk management business.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Manage projects up to £500,000 in value
  • Provide in depth knowledge of coastal and fluvial engineering projects, alongside knowledge of in nature driven design
  • Offer engineering expertise and in depth market knowledge with an aim to generate sales in both public and private sector markets
  • Maintain and build on relationships with new and existing clients;
  • Add to regional business development by working with staff in other sectors with an emphasis on winning projects, private sector business and frameworks
  • Manage, coordinate and deliver tenders;
  • Support the growth and development of the team including mentoring of junior engineering staff;
  • Promote the team internally and externally; and
  • Be flexible to travel around a number of UK and international locations.

 

Key Requirments:

 

Essential:

  •  Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer via ICE or CIWEM or in the process of applying for Chartered status
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Scottish policy and procedures
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 contract management
  • Site supervision experience of fluvial and coastal projects
  • Awareness of civil engineering industry procedures and best practice
  • Awareness of application of hydrology and hydraulic modelling
  • Excellent commercial understanding and technical track record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
