Our client is one of the world's leading Renewable Energy companies.

As a result of ongoing growth, they are currently looking to recruit a Senior Mast Installation Technician.

Reporting directly to the mast team manager, the SMIT will be based in Central Scotland and have relevant experience in the installation and maintenance of lattice or tubular metrological masts. Able to work at height and willing to work in remote and inclement locations, the SMIT will assist in the development of new working practices and processes including the provision of lattice mast services to both internal and external clients.

Requirements / Skills

  • Relevant experience in the installation and maintenance of lattice masts
  • Comfortable working at height and taking responsibility for their own and others safety
  • Working knowledge of lifting operations
  • Ability to work on site or in an office, independently as well as in a close team
  • Familiar with mast building techniques including cranes and gin poles
  • Willing to travel within the UK and overseas for periods up to 3 weeks at any given time
  • Familiarity with rigging systems and winches/hoists
  • Understanding and basic installation knowledge of mast foundations and anchors
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Good understanding of health and safety and experienced in writing method statements and risk assessments
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated and takes pride in completing work to the highest professional standard


  • UK Driving licence
  • WAH training (tower climber or IRATA)
  • CSCS / CITB / Safety Passport
  • Site Supervisor SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Lifting operations (crane supervisor or appointed person)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications

  • Trailer driving licence
  • Manual Handling
  • Off-road driving
  • Knowledge of plant and machine capabilities. (Excavators, specialist tracked machines, cranes and tele-handlers)
