£32,000 - £36,000
An opportunity to work within an exciting and dynamic council, in the beautiful countryside but within great commutable distance to London.
Our client is experience unprecedented growth, due to the expectation of delivering a number of new housing projects as well as infrastructure and commercial projects in the coming years. Following on from a number of internal promotions, they now require a motivated and enthusiastic planning professional to join the team.
Looking forward, our client intends to continue their improved application performance, develop their policies and work with Parish and Towns Councils on neighborhood plans and to continue with their success in giving a new focus on planning enforcement. The planning teams are quite large for the size of authority reflecting that planning is a high priority and a major function for the Council.
The role of Senior Planner Officer
This is in an excellent opportunity to influence and shape this exceptional level of development for an experienced, pro-active, enthusiastic planner who can demonstrate a track record in dealing with a variety of planning application types and who is keen to take their career to the next level.
The Council has an excellent built and natural environment, many Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and areas of exquisitely beautiful countryside. They look to promote the highest standards of design through development negotiations and pro-active work.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and hardworking development management team and will be responsible for a varied caseload of planning applications, pre-applications requests and appeals as well as providing advice and mentoring to other colleagues.
You will be provided with an opportunity to deal with a high level of major applications and depending on experienced will represent the Council as an expert witness at public enquiries/hearings.
You must be able to demonstrate your ability to handle a number of competing priorities. You will need to be well organised with strong verbal, written and presentation skills and possess the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should have experience of presenting cases at Planning Committee meetings.
